MoU signing between UoN and Mabati Rolling Mills(MRM)
The University of Nairobi (UoN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Vice Chancellor’s boardroom.
The Principal College of Architecture and Engineering Prof. Peter Ngau, speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mbithi, said that the University is committed to increase its partnership with industry. This is one of the major mandates that it plays towards Kenya Vision 2030 which is, catalyzing the country’s industrialization through partnerships. “Mabati Rolling Mills are the best in the country in terms of roofing solutions and the students will benefit from this partnership and exchange,” Prof. Ngau said.
On his part, Mr. Harry Njagi, Head of marketing, MRM, said that as a company they have adopted world class standards in terms of building solutions. “Mabati Rolling Mills would like to work on getting affordable materials and building solutions for an ordinary African,” Mr. Njagi said.
“We are ready and willing to share the technology currently employed, roofing and allied technologies, knowledge in material and application and from this partnership we would like to come up with new technology, “He affirmed.
