Online Student Application Information System Launched

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter M. F. Mbithi today launched the Online Application Information System that will ease student’s University application process.

The Online Application Information System is yet another great system that seeks to bring accessibility to information and services of the University to a wider reach. Speaking during the launch, the Vice-Chancellor noted the online application system and will help the University management in making technology driven decisions a result of such innovations.

Prof. Julius Ogen'go, the Director, Centre for Self-Sponsored Programs, CESSP, noted that the automation will also enhance the number of students admitted as well improve the ease to do business with the University from application to admission and settlement of fees through nontraditional payment options like mobile money and credit cards.

The system has been developed as collaboration between various stakeholders represented by the academic division, Board of Post Graduate Studies (BPS), Finance department, ICTC, CESS, School of Business and Kenya Commercial Bank who worked very closely with the technical teams from ICTC.

Prof. Henry Mutoro, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, in his remarks noted the system was a precursor to Open Distance Learning.

Present in the launch  were  Director ICTC, Mr. Ibrahim Otieno, Dr. Sam Nyaoke, representing the CEO KCB Mr. Joshua Oigara , Deans , Directors and Heads of Departments from the various schools.
