University of Nairobi‘s Catholic Chaplaincy launched their eighth music album.

Hon. Chris Wamalwa, the Member of Parliament for Kimilili and Prof. Peter Mbithi, Vice-Chancellor, UoN, presided over the colourful event which was held at the St. Paul’s University Chapel on April 8, 2018.

The choir which sings at the St. Paul’s University Chapel mainly consists of UoN students.

Speaking during the launch, Hon. Wamalwa, congratulated the students on their exemplary performance and urged them to continue using their talents to preach the gospel through song and music. He pledged to fund their next album. He is the chairman of the Catholic Members of Parliament.

“We will organize networking sessions with Catholic students where they can be mentored, get internship opportunities and even scholarships to further their studies,” he announced.

On his part, Prof. Mbithi, recalled with nostalgia, to the amusement of those present, his student days and how they would fellowship at St. Paul’s University Chapel.

“My life has revolved around this Chapel; from my wedding to the baptism of my children,” he revealed. “My one message to students is that you should maximize on your experiences while on campus. The University’s strategic plan emphasizes the need to produce holistic graduates, who are both good academically and in extra-curriculum activities.”

Prof. Henry Mutoro, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Fr. Peter Kaigua, the Catholic Chaplain, UoN, are among those present at the launch.
