UONAA hosts Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Scholarship recipients

The University of Nairobi Alumni Association (UONAA) hosted a luncheon for 4 University of Nairobi Postgraduate Students who have been awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship to University of Toronto, Canada.

The four students are Willis Phabian Akala Opondo, PhD Sociology, Wamvua Andrew, PhD Education, Ivy Maina, MBA, Strategic Management and Valentine Gatune, Masters in Project Management.

The Vice-Chairperson, UONAA, Dr. Anne Aseey was instrumental in securing the scholarships for the students who will be travelling to Canada in September 2019. The Alumni Association looks forward to creating more opportunities and linkages for the University of Nairobi students. The beneficiaries were also encouraged to be good brand ambassadors of UoN and create networks to benefit more students.

The International Visiting Graduate Student (IVGS) Study Abroad program is a fully sponsored academic scholarship administered under the Centre for International Experience, University of Toronto, Canada. The four recipients will be in different schools undertaking their studies, research and networking in different disciplines while at the university of Toronto.
