UoN don presents a centenary book to the Vice-Chancellor.

Prof. Gilbert Ogutu from Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies presented his centenary book titled “All Saints Cathedral Church Centenary Book 1917-2017” to the Vice Chancellor.

The book, which is a dedication of cathedral history, focuses on the early church, the Reformation, Christian missions to Africa and underscores the presence of the Cathedral as a fountain of spiritual nourishment and a perfect venue to win souls of Christ. It traces the history of the Anglican church of Kenya back to 1917.

The Kenyan born Senator for South Australia, Lucy Gichuhi, has called on Kenyans to learn to embrace one another, irrespective of colour, tribe, gender or place of origin.

The Senator delivered a speech titled ‘How to disagree agreeably,’ at the University of Nairobi on January 18, 2018.

She reflected on the life lessons learned while she was growing up. She narrated how different experiences in her childhood molded her into the leader she is today; having interacted with different cultures as she pursued her education in high school and at the University of Nairobi.

Mully Childrens Family (MCF) Founder, Dr. Charles Mulli, shared philanthropy insights with the University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi on how best to develop the next generation of leaders.

Speaking on his own experiences, Dr. Charles Mulli has in the past 28 years nurtured and educated over 16,000 children from primary to secondary to university and college level and equipping them with life skills and helping them to be self-reliant and self-sustaining in life.

University of Nairobi hands over the First KiboCUBE CubeSat to JAXA

On January 16, 2018, at the JAXA Tsukuba Space Center, a team from the University of Nairobi (UoN) handed over to JAXA the first KiboCUBE CubeSat, 1st Kenyan University Nano Satellite-Precursor Flight (1KUNS-PF).

The CubeSat was developed by UoN.
 
Under the KiboCUBE programme between the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and JAXA, 1KUNS-PF is the first CubeSat selected to be deployed from Kibo, the Japanese Experiment Module of the International Space Station (ISS). Preparation is underway to reach the deployment timeline, sometime this spring.
