Varsity launches Postgraduate Academic Tracking System

The University of Nairobi (UoN) has launched a Postgraduate Academic Tracking Information System.

LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI TOWERS

His Exellency, the President Uhuru Kenyatta,Her Exellency, the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, the Deputy President, William Ruto, Cabinet Secretary Education, Science and Technology Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi,Cabinet Secretary, Interior and Coordination of National Government Joseph Ole Lenku among other dignitaries joined the University of Nairobi top management and community at large in laying the foundation stone for the University of Nairobi Towers.

President Kenyatta commended the University management and the council for their effort and their resilience in raising funds from internal sources towards the construction of the towers. 

The Deputy President, William Ruto an almni of the University of Nairobi remarked how he remembered with nostalgia his first moments at the University as a first year.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. George Magoha thanked the university's management team in steering the University of Nairobi to great heights in academic achievements and growth both locally and internationally which he said was no mean feat.

The University of Nairobi towers a 22 storey project which is one of the largest construction projects the university has emabarked on in recent past will house  the Vice-Chancellor’s Suite, Senate Boardroom, Council Meeting Room state of the art lecture theaters and the School of Business .

His Exellency the president, reitarated the need for cooperation, in moving kenya forward through partnership for development of the various sectors among them education.

The Cabinet Secretary, Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi, University of Nairobi Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi and Chairman of Council, Dr. Idle Farah also spoke during the auspicious occasion.

7th Federation of Africa University Sports - Games 2014

The University of Nairobi, will host the 7th Edition of the FASU Games at its main campus in Nairobi. Participation is by National University teams from Universities around Africa.

Countries that have confirmed particapation include;

The University is set to play host to the visiting teams for the entire duration of the FASU Games.The Finance Department in conjuction with the Student Welfare Authority (SWA)

will oversee the accomodation and catering for the guest teams.

Research Grants Management Information System Meeting

Nothing is more important to prospecting than the quality of Service delivery. To embrace this, the Finance Department has embroiled Technology to better information services and hasten service delivery.

In Additional to existing Financial Management Information Systems, The Finance Department in coordination with ICT department introduces a new information system to manage and report research grants. Grants Management Information System is at its final stage of development and to be deployed out soon.

A series of brainstorming meetings have taken place engaging the users, administrators and the technical team to meet desired requirements.

The origin of the Finance Department as it is known today can be traced to 1956, when the Royal Technical College was established. It existed as a section within the administrative structure. Its main function then was bookkeeping of office expenditure, furniture and equipments and teaching expenses

However, please note that the Central Examinations Centre in Chiromo Campus will be open from 5.30 p.m. today 7th December, 2018 to allow for the evening classes and on Saturday 8th December 2018 from 8.00 a.m.

Dear All,

 

This is to inform all staff and students that the Sport grounds at the main campus will be closed from December 14th up to and including December 22nd, 2018.This is in order to facilitate the preparations for the 60th Graduation ceremony.

 

Alternative playing grounds will be the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) and the School of Business (lower Kabete).Two buses will be ferrying players from CCU to both CAVS and SOB at 4.30pm each day.
